Black summer truffles
Black summer truffles are foraged in central and northern Italy by Truffle Hunter. These truffles occur naturally in the soil surrounding certain trees in and around the Sibillini Mountain National Park, Umbria and Le Marche.
The flavour of these truffles develops quickly as the season progresses. In early June, the truffles have a delicate flavour and aroma but by the time they are fully matured by August they are quite pungent and strong.
Black Summer Truffles have a long shelf life – they keep well for around two weeks after being hunted.
