Sally raises over £2000 in Manchester marathon

I watched with pride as my daughter Sally completed her first marathon in Manchester, at just 18 years old!

She decided to run the race after her best friend’s mother passed away with cancer at the end of last year. The plan was hatched in a biology lesson with Harry Skelton; that they would run a marathon for their friend’s mum and raise money for cancer research.

With only a short period of training for a marathon it was a massive task – not only to run the full distance but to post a good time too. After much cajoling and support they eventually came in at a very commendable four hours and thirty minutes looking very relieved and very tired.

So far, they have raised over £2,000. All my fantasy football winnings are going into the pot, and if anyone wants to help in nudging it up to £3k, then please click here.
