James and Sally run the 2017 London Marathon

On Sunday 23rd April James and Sally Wellock took part in the 2017 Virgin London Marathon, running for a world free of hunger.
Wellocks have worked hard to support Action Against Hunger, and help raise awareness of the incredible work that they do.

As we speak, 16 million children worldwide suffer from life-threatening malnutrition. Currently, only one in ten get the treatment they need, often because healthcare is too far away. Action Against Hunger is working hard to change this. It is revolutionising the way children are diagnosed and treated, so that health workers can reach them no matter where they live.

After months of intense training ahead of taking on the 26-mile course, James and Sally set off at the start line amongst some 40,000 other runners with sheer excitement and anticipation ahead. Cheering them on, were the Action Against Hunger team at mile 17.

James passed the finish line at 4 hours 11 minutes, and Sally at 5 hours 10 minutes.

A big thank you to all our suppliers, customers and friends who kindly donated towards Action Against Hunger.
James and Sally have raised a grand total of £6,000 for Action Against Hunger.

“Congratulations to James and Sally for completing the Virgin Money London Marathon. Taking on a marathon is a journey that starts months before you even reach the start-line, it takes hours of training runs every week whatever the weather to run further than you’ve ever run before and then to run further the next week too, James and Sally took it all in their stride. As a part of the Action Against Hunger team, James and Sally have smashed their fundraising target to raise over £2,000 each thanks to the network of generous suppliers and clients. The 2017 London Marathon team has been our most successful yet and we are thrilled that James and Sally could be a cornerstone of the success which comes after years of generous support from Wellocks” – Action Against Hunger.
