Getting Georgia back on track

Over the last year we have been working with young triathlete Georgia Taylor-Brown, supplying her with fresh and perfect ingredients each week to help regain her winning form.

Back in 2012, Georgia was crowned European Junior Champion, won the ITU Junior Duathlon World title and was awarded the British Triathlon Female Elite Junior Triathlete of the Year. In May 2014, Georgia found out that she had a stress fracture in her foot, so in July she had two screws fitted into the bone, as well as a bone graft to help fuse the bone together. She later learned that she had another stress fracture in her fourth toe. When she approached us to ask for help, she was recovering from some nasty injuries and undergoing intensive rehabilitation and physio. The recovery time was long, but Georgia was determined to get back on form as quickly as possible.

Not getting the right nutrition had been the root cause for the injuries, so the support from Wellocks – delivering the very best ingredients there are – has been vital. Georgia says: “Since my injuries occurred through poor nutrition, Wellocks’ deliveries have been incredible as I have been able to order all the perfect ingredients to supply my body with everything it needs! The fruit and vegetables are as fresh as you can get and the eggs are so delicious. Thank you Wellocks for playing such a big part in my road to recovery.”

Georgia loves scrambled eggs with pesto, served over smashed avocado and cherry tomatoes on bread as well as lots of salads.

Recently, Georgia has had one of the screws replaced and is now back in training, getting back to full fitness for the 2016 triathlon season. She is working towards racing in her first Olympic distance event. “I hope to be on the start line in Roundhay Park, Leeds next June, in front of a home crowd! I just want to get out there and enjoy every minute of it after being off the scene for two years. I’m excited to see what the future brings and look forward to watching myself grow in the sport!”

We wish you all the best, Georgia! It’s a pleasure being part of your journey to recovery and we hope to see you competing again very soon.
